Glossary

  • Accredited Projects - All projects listed on the WEF system are accredited by the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board`s River Murray Environmental Manager. Accreditation involves selection of projects using criteria that are consistent with Environmental Flows for the River Murray - South Australia's framework for collective action to restore river health 2005-2010.
  • Allocations - a unit of opportunity (usually a volume) as distributed periodically.
  • Entitlement - the long-term interest (share) in a varying stream of periodic allocations.
  • Use Licence - permission to use allocations with pre-specified use conditions and obligations to third parties.
  • Donation - a donation is a contribution of money or water to WEF. Donations are of the following types:
    • Type 1 - Water is donated to WEF and WEF selects the project to which the water is directed.
    • Type 2 - Water can be donated directly to a project of a users choice.
    • Type 3 - Money can be donated to WEF and WEF works out which projects need water or infrastructure the most.
    • Type 4 - Money can be donated to a project and WEF works out wether water or infrastructure is needed to meet objectives.
    • Type 5 - Money can be donated to purchase water for a given projects. The purchasing is performed manually by the WEF Administrator.
    • Type 6 - Money can be donated towards a given projects infrastructure item. WEF or the project manager will determine exactly what the money will be used for on the infrastructure item.
    • Type 7 - Money can be donated towards an infrastruicture items funding goal.
